An Azerbaijani wrestler has reached the final at the U-17 World Championships held in Athens, the capital of Greece.
According to "Report", Huseyn Ismayilov (65 kg) has advanced to the decisive stage of the world championship.
He initially defeated Canadian Liam Gorton – 4:2.
The product of the Ganja wrestling school left no chance to Greek Konstantinos Michailidis in the 1/8 finals – 11:0. Ismayilov then narrowly eliminated Kyrgyz Adisbek Altynbekov – 2:1. Huseyn was stronger than Kazakh Yerali Askerbek in the semi-finals – 3:1. The national team member will wrestle American Arseni Kikinyov in the final tomorrow.
Ravan Hasanzade (48 kg) eliminated Belarusian Makar Markovich ahead of time – 12:0. Our compatriot also emerged victorious from the intense match against Uzbek Jahangir Tulkunov – 4:2. Ravan lost to American Ariah Mills 2:7 in the semi-finals. Hasanzade will wrestle for a bronze medal tomorrow against the winner of the match between Giorgi Narimanidze (Georgia) and Islam Rabadanov (Russia).

Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg) celebrated a confident victory over Armenian Vache Aslanyan in his debut – 7:1. Suleymanli was also close to reaching the 1/4 finals. However, Nihad, who lost the victory with 3 seconds remaining, lost to Russian Issa Zangiyev 5:7.
