Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg), Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler, considers it gratifying to win a bronze medal by defeating his Armenian opponent at the U-23 World Championships held in Novi Sad, Serbia.
The athlete made a statement about this to "Report".
He emphasized that his main goal was the championship beforehand:
"The competition was at a high level. We had very serious preparations before the World Cup. I went to the tournament as the last European champion. My goal was to win a gold medal. But a small detail prevented me from winning the championship. I think that by not repeating those mistakes, I can become a champion in the next competitions. It is gratifying to win a bronze medal by defeating an Armenian athlete. But I look at all my opponents with the same eye".
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani wrestler won a bronze medal by defeating Armenian Gaspar Terteryan 3:1 in the match for third place.
