Azerbaijan's freestyle wrestlers have started the U-17 European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, with 3 medals.

Ravan Hasanzade (48 kg) faced Armenian Artak Aghabekyan in the final. Ravan, who defeated his opponent with a score of 4:0, became the European champion.
Ruslan Alizade (55 kg) wrestled with Russian Makhach Abdullayev in the decisive match. Ruslan climbed to the highest step of the podium by winning a minimal score (3:2) in a tense fight.
Tunar Nasibov (65 kg) defeated Georgian Saba Tkemaladze with a "touch" in the consolation match. However, he lost to Turkish Ismail Mertkollu with a score of 2:4 in the bronze medal match.
Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg) was stronger than Gyoergi Juhas in the bronze medal match - 2:0.
Thus, our national team has taken a confident step towards the championship by winning 2 gold and 1 bronze medals one day before the end of the competition.
