Two Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers have started the wrestling ranking tournament held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, with a victory.
Idman.Biz reports that Davud Mammadov (77 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) successfully passed the first stage and advanced to the 1/8 finals.
Mammadov defeated the representative of Kazakhstan, Merey Maulitkanov, in the starting match, while Abbasov defeated another Kazakhstani, Islam Yevloyev.
In addition, Lachin Valiyev (87 kg) will hold his first match against Alan Ostayev (UWW).
Earlier, Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers won four medals at the tournament in Tirana: Rashid Babazade (65 kg) won silver, and Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg), Jabrail Hajiyev (79 kg) and Arseni Cioyev (86 kg) won bronze medals.
