The European Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, have come to an end.
İdman.Biz reports with reference to the Azerbaijan Fencing Federation that Abbas Huseynov, Zarifa Huseynova, and Vahab Fatullayev stopped competing one step away from the bronze medal.
Abbas Huseynov advanced to the 1/4 finals in the individual competition of cadet boys in the saber type of fencing and finished the tournament in 6th place among 80 participants.
Zarifa Huseynova finished the competition in the top eight in the individual competition of young sabre fencers and took 7th place in the overall ranking among 72 participants.
Vahab Fatullayev took 7th place in the final table in the individual competition in which 126 young male epee fencers competed.
Our national team consisting of Abbas Huseynov, Timur Husnaddinov, Rasul Aliyev and Nahid Mammadli took 11th place in the youth saber competition.
Zarifa Huseynova, Alla Hasanova, Leyla Ahmadova and Farah Abasova finished the team competition of young female sabre fencers in 14th place.
