The Azerbaijan Greco-Roman wrestling team took second place at the World Championship held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
"Report" reports with reference to the press service of the Wrestling Federation that our Greco-Roman wrestling team, which won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in the prestigious competition, scored 89 points.
Iran (180 points) took first place, and Uzbekistan (72 points) took third place.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani wrestlers won 8 medals at the World Championship. Ulvi Ganizade (72 kg) won the title of world champion. Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) won silver, Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg), Nuraddin Novruzov (61 kg), Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg), Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg) and Murad Ahmadiev (92 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg) won gold, Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) silver, Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg) and Murad Ahmadiev (97 kg) bronze medals in the team.
