"It is a proud moment to see the Azerbaijani flag raised high."
İdman.Biz reports that this was stated by Arseniy Djioyev, Azerbaijan's freestyle wrestler who won a gold medal at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, in his statement to journalists.
The athlete, who climbed to the highest step of the podium in the 86 kg weight category, highly appreciated his success:
"I am very happy to have made our country happy. I am grateful to everyone for their congratulations. I am proud that the Azerbaijani flag is raised the highest. Our coaches have a great contribution to this victory. They give the right direction to the athletes. The match against the Iranian opponent, who was a two-time world champion, was difficult. He is considered a star athlete of his country. But it doesn't matter, because I won the victory. I dedicate my victory to my family."
It should be noted that Arseni Djioyev defeated Bahrain's representative Khidir Saypudinov 5:1 in the decisive match.
