The U-20 European Wrestling Championship has started in Caorle, Italy.

On the first day, 5 athletes of the Azerbaijani national team competed, and 3 of them qualified for the semi-finals. All three of them advanced to the finals.

Turan Dashdamirov advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Georgian Koba Karumidze on the last point (4:4) and Armenian Levon Ghazaryan based on the first point principle (1:1). In the semi-final, Turan wrestled with Ukrainian Nazariy Babinski. Our wrestler defeated his opponent with a score of 3:1 and became a finalist.
