"We will do our best to achieve a good result."
This was stated to Idman.biz by Farid Jalalov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national men's volleyball team.
The specialist shared his thoughts on the national team's first match against Sweden in the Silver European League. The coach stated that preparations were at a high level: "Today we will face Sweden, and tomorrow we will face the Georgian national team. We started preparing at the beginning of May. From May 29 to June 2, we participated in friendly games and training camps in Georgia. We won both matches we played. These games were a good experience for our young members. Our captain Vugar Bayramov is not in the squad due to a knee problem. We also have a few other losses due to injury. Nevertheless, we will do our best in the Silver League."
Jalalov especially emphasized that young people predominate in the squad: "We have gathered as many young players selected in the country as we could into the team. We have almost rejuvenated 90 percent of the national team. Players under the age of 25 are already participating in the main squad. Two or three years ago, we could see that players over the age of 35 predominated in the team. We want them to be able to play in the national team in the future. Because some of our relatively older players have started coaching. In accordance with the sports policy pursued by the Federation, we are trying to give more opportunities to young people."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan-Sweden match will start at 17:00.
