Azerbaijani judoka Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) finished with a silver medal at the European Championship held in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.
According to "Report", he lost to Georgian Ilia Sulamanidze in the decisive match.
Our other judoka, Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg), lost to German representative Erik Abramov in the bronze medal fight.
Earlier, Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg), Rashid Mammadaliyev (73 kg), Zelim Tckaev (81 kg) and Murad Fatiyev (90 kg) won bronze medals.
Thus, Azerbaijani judokas won 1 silver and 4 bronze medals in the individual competitions of the prestigious continental tournament.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented at the European Championship by a total of 15 judokas (9 men, 6 women) in 12 weight categories. The team will also compete in the mixed team competition. The tournament will conclude on April 27 with the mixed team competitions.
