World Athletics medalist murdered

Abubaker Kaki, the silver medalist in the 800m race at the 2011 World Athletics Championships, was killed in an artillery attack in Sudan.

Lent.az reports that the "Sudafax" portal reported this. The 35-year-old athlete was a two-time (2008, 2010) winner of the World Indoor Championships, and in 2008 he became the youngest winner of the tournament at the age of 18.

Kaki was the flag bearer for the Sudanese team at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics.
