The winners of the World Cup sprint race in ski mountaineering, held at the "Shahdag" Tourism Center, have been announced.
According to the North Bureau of "Report", the prize-winners were awarded medals and diplomas.
Women
1. Emily Harrop (France)
2. Marianne Fatton (Switzerland)
3. Celia Perillat-Pessey (France)
Men
1. Arno Lietha (Switzerland)
2. Robin Bussard (Switzerland)
3. Ferran Martinez (Spain)
It should be noted that the competition will be held from January 10-13 with the organization of the International Ski Mountaineering Federation, the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation and the "Shahdag" Tourism Center.
About 130 people from 26 countries - Azerbaijan, Turkey, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Austria, Andorra, Spain, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Qatar, Slovakia, USA, Great Britain, Greece, Slovenia and Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN) - are competing in the tournament.
Athletes will compete in vertical events on January 11 and individual events on January 13.
It should be noted that the World Cup is considered one of the qualifying competitions to win a license for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
