The winners of the autumn national cross-country championship held in Jalilabad, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation (AAF), have been determined.
"Report" reports with reference to the AAF press service that more than 150 athletes from Ganja, Lankaran, Astara, Jalilabad, Khizi, Guba, Khachmaz, Ismayilli, Barda, Gadabay and Ordubad, along with representatives of the capital, competed in the competition.
Speakers at the opening ceremony noted the importance of the competition and wished the participants success.
Barda athlete Bakhtiyar Asgarli won the title of national champion again in the 10 km race among men.
Salim Guluzade won at 6 km, and Ali Rzazade and Namig Babayev won at 3 and 2 km, respectively.
Among women, Khatira Hidayetzade, representing Ismayilli, became the champion of Azerbaijan, leaving behind all her rivals in the 6 km race.
Leyla Abdulazizova won at 4 km, Azari Mammadli at 2 km, and Nila Heydarova at 1 km.
