The hockey world is buzzing about Villiam Eklund's goal on Thursday night. Many sports experts are already touting it as a nominee for "Goal of the Season."
İdman.Biz reports that the young forward displayed extraordinary determination in the match against the Boston Bruins. During an attack, the puck went airborne after being deflected by opposing goalie Jeremy Swayman. At that moment, Eklund, who lost his balance after getting tangled in Swayman's hockey stick and fell backward, didn't lose sight of the puck hovering in the air. As he fell to the ground, he struck the puck mid-air, sending it into the net.
Sharing his impressions after the match, Eklund commented on whether the goal was luck or skill:
"I was one-on-one with the opponent, trying to get past him, and in the end, I hit the puck in the air. Did I deliberately shoot it under the goalpost? I don't know for sure. I just tried to shoot, and this time it worked."
