Turkish chovgan player: "Azerbaijan is the favorite in the III CIS Games"

The Azerbaijani team is the favorite in the chovgan competition at the III CIS Games.

According to the employee of "Report" sent to Shaki, this was stated by Fatih Kösen, a member of the Turkish chovgan team, after the match with Uzbekistan.

He expressed positive opinions about the organization of the III CIS Games:

"The organization in Azerbaijan is at a high level. We have been to Azerbaijan before in different competitions. The successes in the organization really make us happy. Everything is very beautiful. We are very happy to be here."

The athlete said that the match with Uzbekistan was difficult:

"The game was beautiful and difficult as always. Chovgan in Turkey has only been around for 2 years. We are doing our best. We are trying, but there is a distance to cover. We will try to be successful by covering great distances in a short period of time. We hope to win in the upcoming games."

F. Kösen said that Azerbaijan has a strong team:

"Chovgan is a very ancient Turkish game. It is an important branch of cultural diplomacy among the Turks. It brings brothers together. This game did not exist in Anatolia, during the Ottoman period. Then it started to be developed again. In Azerbaijan, however, it has always been played. You have a very strong team and players. Azerbaijan is the favorite of chovgan games."

It should be noted that in group B, the Uzbekistan national team defeated Turkey with a score of 4:0. The chovgan competition will end on October 7.
