"I came to Baku to win."
This was stated to journalists by Ataş Sezgin, the winner of the "Baku Marathon 2025".
The Turkish athlete shared his impressions of the victory. The athlete, who covered a distance of 21 km, said that he expected a successful result from himself when participating in the race: "Since I have been running marathons for years, I am used to long distances. Therefore, I didn't have much difficulty. The wind hindered our running a little, but it didn't cause any serious problems."
The athlete said that the race was organized at a high level: "This is my first time in Baku. I knew I would win. I have won various competitions many times before. I had heard interesting things about Baku and wanted to come here very much. There is a very wonderful atmosphere here. Thank you very much to everyone who supported me."
It should be noted that the "Baku Marathon 2025", held since 2016 on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation,
aims to support the development of sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.
