The group race has started at the national road cycling championship held in Khizi with the joint organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation.
The Cycling Federation's press service told "Report" about this.
The winners have already been determined in 3 age categories.
Representatives of the Republican Olympic Cycling School successfully performed among teenage girls and boys. In the 42 km race, Maryam Huseynova and Raul Mahmudov crossed the finish line first and won the title of Azerbaijani champion. Their teammate Ali Rzazade covered the 60 km distance faster than everyone else among boys under 17 and climbed to the highest step of the podium.
On the last day of the competition, male cyclists competing in the Elite/U23 age category will clarify the name of the national champion in the 104 km race.
