The opening ceremony of the 4th Sports Festival was held in Gabala, the "Sports Capital" of this year, on November 21.
İdman.Biz reports that within the framework of the festival organized in Heydar Aliyev Park, demonstrations of badminton, judo, archery, fencing, winter sports, table tennis, triathlon, volleyball, basketball, rugby, gymnastics, rowing, athletics, boxing, taekwondo, cycling, handball, shooting, tennis, swimming, weightlifting, mountaineering, football and wrestling sports took place.
The head of the Gabala District Executive Authority Sabuhi Abdullayev and the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov spoke at the event.
The ceremony continued with an artistic part.
In the previous days of the festival, educational activities, various intellectual games, film screenings and trainings on the Constitution within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty" of 2025 were held in Sheki.
It should be noted that 104 athletes representing 24 federations are participating in the festival.
