We played our best game of the championship this season.
"Report" reports that this was stated by NTD head coach Tahir Bakhshiyev in his statement to the club's press service after the match with "Nakhchivan" in the XII round of the Azerbaijan Basketball League.
The expert emphasized that despite the victory, the team has only fulfilled 60 percent of the requirements so far:
"We played our best game of the championship this season. But I believe that even better games await us ahead. "Nakhchivan" is a strong team. They are in second place in the tournament table. But we really needed this victory. The guys played only for victory. The first half was difficult, the score changed frequently. But in the third period, the guys played very well in defense. This was important for us and we were able to win. I was satisfied with the quality of the game. But I can say that the team is still only fulfilling 60% of my requirements. We will still improve. Every game is important for us now. We had a very bad start to the championship. Fortunately, there are still many games ahead."
The head coach also spoke about the upcoming cup match:
"There is a cup game ahead and the legionnaire limit is different here. There must be at least two local players in the squad. We have almost never played in this composition. I don't know if Murad Babayev will help us. But we have young players. I think we will be able to show a good game against "Lankaran"."
It should be noted that in the "Nakhchivan" - NTD match of group A held in Baku Sports Palace, the guests won with a score of 95:70.
