On August 31, a traditional mass swimming competition in open water will be held jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.
"Report" informs that the "Cross the Kura?!" competition, which will take place between the two banks of the Kura River in Mingachevir, is dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the valiant Victory of the Azerbaijani Army.
People over 12 years old with swimming skills from all cities and regions of the country can participate in the competition, which will be organized for the 4th time. Participants will compete in two main categories according to their level of preparation. 1050 meters in the "Professionals" category and 350 meters in the "Amateurs" competition will be covered. Competitions will be held in the age categories of 12-17, 18-23, 24-35, 36-55, 56-70 and 70+.
This year, for the first time, a 700-meter relay race will also be organized.
