Swedish and American top athletes selected, Yamal also awarded

Armand Duplantis and Simone Biles have won the Laureus World Sports Awards.

İdman.biz reports that at the event held in Madrid, they were named the world's best male and best female athletes of 2024.

Swedish pole vaulter Duplantis was the winner of the 2024 Paris Olympics and set three world records. American gymnast Biles won three gold and one silver medal at Paris-2024.

Barcelona and Spain forward Lamine Yamal won the Breakthrough of the Year award at the 2025 Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony in Madrid on Monday.

Among the award winners in various nominations were tennis legend Rafael Nadal ("Sports Icon"), and Barcelona and Spain national team forward Lamin Yamal ("Breakthrough of the Year").
