Azerbaijani sumo wrestlers are planning to be represented in all categories at the World Championship to be held in Baku.
Elshad Karimov, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Association of Japanese Martial Arts and Culture, told "Report" about this in his statement.
He added that they have started preparations for the competition:
"The participating countries will be those that participate in the world championship every year. Accurate information will be announced to the public when it is available. As the host, we plan to participate in all existing categories. We cannot say which of our sumo wrestlers will participate yet. Because we are still in the selection stage. But we will have big goals in the tournament."
The Secretary General emphasized that they will organize the competition at a high level:
"Azerbaijan has always been among the countries selected for the organization of international tournaments. The World Championship in Baku will also be one of the memorable competitions."
It should be noted that the Sumo World Championship will be held on October 17-18 this year at the Baku Sports Palace.
