The Azerbaijan Cup is not a priority for our team. We are thinking more about the championship. However, we will also participate in the national cup matches and fight to the end.
"Report" reports that the head coach of the "Sheki" basketball team, Bedri Meriç, said this in a statement to the club's press service.
The Turkish specialist evaluated the potential opponents they could face in the 1/4 finals of the Azerbaijan Cup:
"Our opponent will be the winner of the Lankaran - NTD pair. We know "Lankaran" from the championship. NTD has very valuable coaches and basketball players who play in the national team. Although NTD is an outsider in Group A, it is very strong in terms of local players. It would not be right for me to say which team I want to face. Regardless of who our opponent is, we will do our best to win. In the semi-finals, the opponent will most likely be "Sabah". The mandatory use of 2 local players in the Azerbaijan Cup will ensure that Azerbaijani basketball players are better prepared for the matches."
It should be noted that the 1/4 final matches of the Azerbaijan Cup will be held on March 12-13. All games will take place in Baku.
