"Shaki" head coach said: "We performed poorly due to physical fatigue"

"Shaki" players performed poorly in the first match of the Azerbaijan Basketball League semi-final stage against "Sabah" due to physical fatigue.

"Report" informs that the head coach of the regional representative, Bedri Meriç, said this in a statement to the club's press service.

The expert said that they did not have enough strength to win:

"I thank my team for today's fight, and I congratulate "Sabah". The opponent has a team built for Eurocups. In fact, we couldn't start the game well and defend as we planned. We performed a little poorly due to physical fatigue. But in the second half, we tried to equalize the game a bit. We just didn't have the strength to win. Hassani Gravett, who was selected as the MVP of Group A, scored few points. Because we knew how to play against him. But despite stopping him, the other player, James Ides, scored 24 points".

He promised the fans a surprise in the return match:

"We can promise the fans that we will surprise them in the return match in Shaki. Because we have only suffered 1 defeat in our home field this season. We have won all the important matches. I am sure that we will win again in Shaki".

It should be noted that the first semi-final match between "Sabah" and "Shaki" ended with the victory of the Baku club with a score of 86:73.
