Today is the Remembrance Day of our heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Patriotic War, which was launched to prevent Armenia's military provocations against Azerbaijan, combat activity, and ensure the safety of the civilian population.
Idman.biz reminds that September 27 has been celebrated as Remembrance Day in Azerbaijan for the fifth year.
On September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani Army launched a rapid counter-offensive operation in response to Armenia's occupation policy and military provocations along the front. By the order of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, our army started the struggle for the liberation of our lands. The courageous Azerbaijani Army quickly cleared the territories that had been under occupation for 30 years from the enemy's trampling.
Thus, the primordial and eternal lands of Azerbaijan, which had been under Armenian occupation for many years, were liberated. With this, the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was restored. Currently, restoration and reconstruction work is being carried out in the liberated territories, as well as the return of people to their homelands is ensured.
It should be noted that, according to the decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, September 27 is celebrated annually in Azerbaijan as Remembrance Day as a sign of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, and for all our martyrs.
May God have mercy on our martyrs!
