South Korea has launched and continues to implement a cash reward system for information about illegal betting offices.

Thus, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) paid approximately 600 million won ($406,000 USD) in 2025 through a special center to obtain information about illegal gambling.
The amount of the reward depends on the importance of the information provided. In July, the regulator officially announced that informants could receive 200 million won ($135,000 USD) for particularly valuable information. Until now, the maximum reward has been 116 million won (approximately $78,000 USD).
Gambling with illegal betting offices is a crime in South Korea.
