Felipe Melo, who once played for Galatasaray, announced that he was retiring from football at the age of 41.
The Brazilian midfielder, who played for Galatasaray from 2011 to 2015, won the Super League 3 times, the Turkish Cup 2 times and the TFF Super Cup 3 times.
According to Lent.az, referring to foreign media, Felipe Melo, after graduating from Flamengo's youth academy, played for Cruzeiro, Gremio, Mallorca, Racing Santander, Almeria, Fiorentina, Juventus, Inter, Palmeiras and finally Fluminense.
Felipe Melo said in a statement:
"Today I closed one of the most important chapters of my life: my football career. They were incredible years, full of struggle and success, but most importantly, in every step I took, I saw God's intention come to pass. Everything I experienced, every moment, was directed by His hand, and I am forever grateful for the privilege of doing so.
I have always drawn my strength from God's faith, love and mercy. He was with me in my most difficult moments, lifted me up and reminded me to be grateful in moments of triumph.
I thank all the clubs I have had the honor of playing for, my fans who ignited my path, my teammates, all the people who left their mark on this path and my family who always believed in me. But most of all, I thank God for giving me the courage and the opportunity to experience all of this.
Now I am confidently moving on to the next chapter, because I know He will continue to guide me. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this story. I thank Jesus for being unique and enough in my life. Never stop dreaming big, prophesying with faith and taking action, because He will do it!"
