The Azerbaijan Road Cycling Championship, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, has come to an end.
İdman.biz reports that on the last day of the competition, in which more than 100 athletes of different age groups competed, young boys and men in the Elite/U-23 age group determined the strongest in the 110 km group race.
Artyom Proskuryakov, an athlete of the Republican Olympic Cycling School, was the strongest among young boys. His teammate Ali Bakhshiyev crossed the finish line 3rd. Suleyman Alakbarov, a graduate of the "Elchin Asadov Cycling School", won the silver medal.
In the Elite/U-23 age group, Musa Mikayilzade, a member of the "Young Professional Cyclists Club" Public Union, became the Azerbaijan champion in the group race, as he did in the individual race. Tural Israfilov and Nofal Nuriyev, representatives of the Republican Olympic Cycling School, won silver and bronze medals.
