The Heydar Aliyev Cup in amateur children's skiing was held with the support of the Winter Sports Federation and organized by the "Shahdag" Tourism Center.
İdman.Biz reports that on the first day of the tournament, which was organized for the fourth time, about 80 young ski enthusiasts aged 6–8, 9–12 and 13–17 who had registered in advance competed in the "Giant Slalom" category.
According to the results of the competition, Nurlana Abdulova and Muron Anatshov won first place among girls and boys in the 6–8 age category, respectively.
In the 9–12 age category, Zarina Valiyeva was first, Amina Ahmadova was second, and Aylin Hasanzade was third among girls. Among the boys, Mehdi Haktari took 1st place, Nadir Alishov second, and Said Nazurov third.
In the 13–17 age category, Lyudmila Podgornaya shared first, Suel Hajibeyli second, and Maryam Vazirova third places among girls. Among the boys, Amin Shikhov won, Yusif Kichibekov was second, and Nureddin Nazurov was third.
At the end of the tournament, the winners were awarded cups and medals by the "Shahdag" Tourism Center and sponsors, and participants were presented with various incentive gifts.
The main purpose of the competition is to promote skiing in the country, increase interest in this field among children, and expand the experience of the "Shahdag" Tourism Center in organizing international sports competitions.
It should be noted that the Heydar Aliyev Cup in skiing will continue on February 1 with a competition among adults.
