According to "Report", the list was published by the influential "Sportico" portal.
Inflation was taken into account when compiling the list.
American basketball player Michael Jordan leads the list of the highest-earning athletes in history. The six-time champion of the National Basketball Association and two-time Olympic medalist has earned $4.15 billion.
American golfer Tiger Woods takes second place, and Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo takes third place. Woods, a 15-time major tournament winner, has earned $2.79 billion. Ronaldo, a five-time Champions League winner, the best scorer in the history of national teams, and a five-time "Golden Ball" winner, has earned $2.23 billion.
LeBron James (basketball), Lionel Messi (football), Arnold Palmer (golf), Jack Nicklaus (golf), David Beckham (football), Roger Federer (tennis), and Floyd Mayweather (boxing) are also in the top ten.
