Our taekwondo fighter, Qashim Magomedov, was unable to win a gold medal at the World Championships in Wuxi, China, due to an injury.
Idman.Biz reports that the athlete, who finished the tournament with a bronze medal, said this in a statement to journalists at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
He shared his impressions of the competition he participated in:
"The result I achieved was very good. I prepared well for the competition. This year was a bit difficult for me because I was injured in Bulgaria in the middle of the year. I was away from training for the last three months due to rehabilitation in Makhachkala. I have been training with all my might for almost two months. This time is not enough to prepare for the World Championship. If I had prepared more and had no injuries, I would have won a gold medal."
It should be noted that Qashim Magomedov, one of the national team members, won a bronze medal at the World Cup. Azerbaijan was represented at the World Championship by 9 taekwondo fighters.
