PSG has set a historic record among French clubs in the Champions League by reaching the semi-finals of the tournament for the 9th time.
Lent.az reports that the Parisians, who lost away to Aston Villa (2:3) in the second leg of the Champions League 1/4 final stage on April 15, advanced to the next stage of the tournament with an overall score of (5:4).
PSG is in the Champions League semi-finals for the second consecutive season and the fourth time in six years. In terms of the total number of appearances in the strongest quartet, the Parisians have surpassed Marseille by reaching the semi-finals of the main European Cup tournament eight times in their history (most recently in 1993).
In the semi-finals, PSG will face the winner of the Real Madrid - Arsenal match (first leg - 0:3). The first match will take place on April 29-30, and the return match will take place on May 6-7.
PSG's highest achievement in the Champions League is the final in 2020, which they lost 0:1 to Bayern. A French club has won the main European Cup tournament only once, in 1993, when Marseille managed to do so.
