The "President's Cup 2026" international regatta for rowing and canoeing, organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Water Sports Federation, will start for the first time in the Sarsang reservoir.
Sport24.az reports that exemplary performances and the first competitions of athletes in academic rowing, kayaking, canoeing, dragon boats, and sailing boats will be held on April 27, the first day of the regatta dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, at the Sarsang reservoir. Scooters carrying the flags of participating countries will circle on the water.
National music and dance performances will also be showcased as part of the event.
It should be noted that more than 100 athletes from Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan will compete in the "President's Cup 2026" international regatta. The regatta will conclude on May 1.
