Ovechkin Scores 908th Goal Against Winnipeg Jets, Closing in on Gretzky

Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin scored his 11th goal of the NHL season as his team defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-3.

Idman.Biz reports that Ovechkin has 22 points (11 goals + 11 assists) in 24 games this season.

Ovechkin's 908th goal was not only important for Washington, but also a step towards a new record in his personal career. The distance to Wayne Gretzky's all-time goal record is currently 31 goals.
