There is a gap between the budgets of sports federations in Azerbaijan.
According to "Report", this was stated by Oqtay Atayev, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.
He shared his views at a meeting of the Youth and Sports Committee of the Milli Majlis with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Olympic Committee and sports federations.
"Interest in sports is not at the desired level. It is difficult to find a sponsor. There is a need to provide privileges to sponsors. All federations are non-governmental organizations. Financial issues are difficult from a legislative point of view. The risks associated with NGOs apply to everyone. The budgets of the federations are different, there is a gap between them. The budget of the Ministry of Youth and Sports can be increased and finances can be distributed equally. We are not eyeing anyone's money. But if there is no finance in the lagging sport, the result will be given late. For example, even if the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation now has 100 million manats, it will not be able to give results in 1 year. We understand that it takes 7-8 years for this," the official of the organization emphasized.
