The opening ceremony of the national climbing championship (difficulty type) has been held.
İdman.Biz reports that male and female athletes from different regions of the country participate in the competition held at the Baku Sports Climbing Center.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, said that President Ilham Aliyev pays special attention and care to all areas of sports: "This is an undeniable fact. Our country already hosts international competitions properly. Indeed, the organization of the national climbing championship is ideal. The organization of such competitions is an important step for the development of sports. It was also the first for me. I wish all athletes success."
The president of the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation, Mukhtar Babayev, said that sports help young people lead a healthy lifestyle: "Professional and high-level athletes compete in the championship. We are doing our best to develop mountain and climbing sports in Azerbaijan. Thanks to the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev, sports are developing in our country year by year. The organization of the national championship on the eve of Victory Day is a special moment. May God have mercy on all our martyrs and give health to our veterans."
It should be noted that the competition, which is jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will end on November 2.
