The Novruz holiday festivities were organized on March 21 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Water Sports Federation.
İdman.Biz reports that scooters carrying Azerbaijani flags circled the Caspian Sea at the event held on Baku Boulevard.
Then, sailing boats, kayaks, canoes, academic rowing, and dragon boats sequentially passed by. In the boulevard area, city residents were given the opportunity to test themselves on special concept training equipment for sailing and rowing.
During the event, entertaining quizzes and master classes were also held for children. Children also participated in egg fights, one of the traditions of Novruz, and decorated shekerbura. During the music programs, the residents of the capital and guests of Baku created a real festive atmosphere with dances. The Novruz festivities were met with great joy and enthusiasm by the residents.
It should be noted that sailing is included in the Azerbaijan Water Sports Federation. In a short time, the federation organized a joint event of rowing and sailing. One of the reasons for holding the event is to promote rowing and sailing, increase its popularity, and attract young people and teenagers to this sport.
