The 44-day Patriotic War resulted in the end of nearly thirty years of occupation and the restoration of our territorial integrity. The liberation of the pearl of Karabakh, the city of Shusha, dear to every Azerbaijani, on November 8, after twenty-eight years of captivity, played a decisive role in the fate of the war, leading the enemy's political and military leadership to admit defeat and cease military operations. The operation to liberate Shusha from occupation will forever remain in history.
On November 10, the President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Russia signed a statement on the complete cessation of fire and all military operations in the conflict zone.
