French alpine skier and national champion Margot Bailet died at the age of 18 during training.
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that the incident occurred while preparing for the "Red Bull Alpine Park" competition, which will be held from April 24 to 27 in Val d'Isère, France.
The athlete fell while descending during training. Despite the prompt intervention of emergency medical doctors, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The organizers decided to cancel the competition completely. Although the condition of the track was assessed as optimal, the exact causes of the incident are still unclear. The Albertville prosecutor's office is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
