The Bucharest University Hospital has released a statement regarding Mircea Lucescu's current condition.
"Mircea Lucescu underwent a thorough CT scan today. The doctors treating him thoroughly investigated his condition and informed his family. The CT scan revealed signs of multiple ischemic cerebral stroke and foci of pulmonary thromboembolism; Lucescu will remain under close supervision of the hospital's multidisciplinary team," - Lent.az reports, citing foreign media.
According to Romanian media, Lucescu suffered multiple strokes and pulmonary thromboembolism (EN: Life-threatening acute vascular occlusion).
It is reported that Lucescu suffered a heart attack on the morning of April 3, just before being discharged from the Bucharest University Hospital. The Bucharest University Hospital announced that Mircea Lucescu's condition worsened on Saturday evening and that the former national team coach was readmitted to the intensive care unit.
