Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between European Aquatics and Azerbaijani Partners

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the European Aquatics (EA), the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation (ASF), the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy (ASA), envisaging the expansion of multifaceted cooperation.

Idman.biz reports that Farid Gayibov, the Minister of Youth and Sports, speaking at the event, said that he believes this cooperation will be successful for both parties.

Antonio Silva, the President of European Aquatics, expressing his satisfaction at being in Baku again, said that cooperation with the academy is an important step for the federation.

ASF President Zaur Aliyev noted that this Memorandum will give impetus to the development of swimming.

Fuad Hajiyev, the Rector of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, said that they will implement joint projects with the federation. He said that all conditions will be created at the academy for the preparation of the national team for international competitions.

Garay Garaybayli, the Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University, emphasized that it is planned to implement new projects in the field of education, scientific research, sports medicine and the development of professional swimming within the framework of this cooperation.

After the official speeches, the Memorandum was signed. Then Antonio Silva was presented with the uniform of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.

It should be noted that in April of this year, EA President Antonio Silva and First Vice President Josip Varvodic visited Baku. They met with the leadership of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation and discussed strengthening cooperation, increasing mass participation in all types of swimming, and new partnership opportunities.
