Our Paralympians in the boccia sport have completed their performance at the international tournament among Turkic-speaking countries held in Aktau, Kazakhstan from October 25-31.
Idman.Biz reports that Nariman Pirguliyev (BC1), Orkhan Karimov (BC2), Zaur Veysalov (BC4), Sona Aghayeva (BC2) and Gunel Rzazade (BC4) won gold medals, while Bahruz Mirzayev (BC4) settled for a silver medal in the competition, which also involved athletes from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
In the doubles competitions, the tandem of Zaur Veysalov and Gunel Rzazade in the BC4 category, and the trio of Nariman Pirguliyev, Orkhan Karimov and Sona Aghayeva in the BC1 and BC2 mixed categories also won gold medals and played our anthem.
Thus, our Paralympians finished the tournament in first place in the team standings.
