The logo of the "Sports Capital" depicts Mount Goyazan and the Dilbaz horse, which are symbols of Gazakh. The project's slogan also expresses the sporting spirit and dynamism of Gazakh: "Gazakh - join the movement!"
In the mascot prepared for the project, a young athlete is reflected with a saz, which is a symbol of the ashig art peculiar to Gazakh. The slogan and mascot of the "Sports Capital" project were created using artificial intelligence.
The city of Gazakh is the "Sports Capital" of Azerbaijan for 2026. This decision was made on December 16, 2024, based on the results of the voting held at the meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
It should be noted that Guba held the "Sports Capital" status in 2024, and Gabala in 2025.
