Levent Koç, a 46-year-old living in Niğde, Turkey, has entered the world alpinism statistics.
İdman.Biz reports that according to the "Summitbook" platform, Koç has been the mountaineer who climbed the most peaks worldwide in the last three years.
Koç, who became interested in mountaineering while serving in the military in the Çukurca district of Hakkari, has climbed numerous peaks both domestically, mainly in the Aladağlar and Bolkar Mountains in Turkey, and abroad during this period.
According to the statistics, Levent Koç climbed 81 peaks in 2023, 101 peaks in 2024 dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, and 70 peaks in 2025, taking first place in the world combination for three consecutive years.
This result is considered a unique indicator for the international alpinism community in terms of both quantity and continuity, and highlights Levent Koç among the most active and productive mountaineers of recent years.
