On August 31, a traditional mass swimming competition in open water will be held jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.
Idman.biz reports that the "Let's cross the Kura?!" competition, which will take place in Mingachevir, between the two banks of the Kura River, is dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the valiant Victory of the Azerbaijani Army.
The competition, which will be organized for the 4th time, can be attended by people over 12 years of age with swimming skills from all cities and regions of the country. Participants will compete in two main categories according to their level of preparation. In the "Professionals" category, 1050 meters, and in the "Amateurs" competition, a distance of 350 meters will be covered. The competitions will be held in the following age categories: 12-17, 18-23, 24-35, 36-55, 56-70 and 70+.
For the first time, a 700-meter relay race will also be organized. To join the relay competition, you need to write to the e-mail [email protected].
Participation in the competition is completely free. However, places are limited and registration will be stopped when the intended number of participants is completed. All participants must register in advance.
Participants' transportation and meals will be provided by the organizers. The winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas, medals and various gifts.
