The "Laureus World Sports Awards" has announced the nominees for the 2026 Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year awards.
Sportswoman of the Year: Aryna Sabalenka (tennis, Belarus), Aitana Bonmati (football, Spain), Melissa Jefferson (athletics, USA), Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon (athletics, Kenya), Katie Ledecky (swimming, USA) and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (athletics, USA).
Sportsman of the Year: Carlos Alcaraz (tennis, Spain), Jannik Sinner (tennis, Italy), Ousmane Dembélé (football, France), Armand Duplantis (athletics, Sweden), Marc Márquez (motorcycle racing, Spain) and Tadej Pogačar (cycling, Slovenia).
The winners of the award will be announced at a ceremony in Madrid, Spain on April 20. The 2025 winners were Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis and American gymnast Simone Biles.
