British sports presenter Laura Woods has spoken more openly than ever before about how dangerous the serious accident she faced was.
İdman.Biz reports that the 38-year-old presenter suffered deep cuts to her face and arm in a bizarre incident in May 2024 while on vacation with her partner, reality TV star Adam Collard, and the injury was just millimeters away from seriously damaging her eye.
Woods shared photos on social media saying that an old glass lamp shade suddenly shattered when a pillow was thrown jokingly, and shards of glass scattered around, causing severe cuts.
According to her, some of the cuts were so deep that they reached the bone. She underwent emergency surgery. She later shared before-and-after photos and videos of the treatment, including visible stitched wounds around her eyebrow and under her eye.
After initial medical assistance, the couple traveled five hours to London and consulted with a specialist plastic surgeon.
The presenter warned her followers in advance that the photos might be graphic and said that the recovery process was difficult both physically and emotionally. She said she had undergone several red light therapy and laser procedures to reduce scarring, which was a painful and expensive process.
Despite all this, Woods returned to work and presented the 2024 Champions League final. She also revealed that she learned she was about five weeks pregnant shortly after the accident occurred.
She continues to share her recovery journey, although she says the scars are still noticeable, and encourages people with similar injuries to get in touch and seek advice.
