A large-scale drug operation that shook the sports and show business world has been conducted in Turkey.
İdman.Biz reports that, within the framework of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order has been issued for 16 people, including former "Galatasaray" president Burak Elmas and former "Beşiktaş" head Fikret Orman. The list also includes well-known figures such as Hakan Sabancı, Kerim Sabancı, actress Hande Erçel, model Didem Soydan, and Güzide Duran.
As a result of the operation carried out simultaneously at 16 addresses by the staff of the Istanbul Narcotics Crimes Department, 14 of the suspects were detained, and a search warrant was issued for two people. They are accused of various serious crimes such as obtaining narcotics, possession, facilitating use, and inciting prostitution.
As part of the operations against celebrities that have been ongoing since October 2025, 26 people have been arrested so far. The detainees will first undergo a health check and provide blood and hair samples at the Forensic Medicine Institute for forensic examination, and then they will be taken to the prosecutor's office to testify. Whether they will be referred to the court will be clear after this stage.
