Jaromír Jágr, the 1998 Olympic hockey champion with the Czech national team, has announced the end of his career.

The 54-year-old hockey player played for the Czech club Rytíři Kladno and last appeared on the ice on December 21.
He began his professional career in 1988. With the Avangard (Russia, Omsk) hockey club, he won the European Champions Cup (2005) and the Continental Cup in 2011. Jágr is an Olympic champion (1998) and a two-time world champion (2005, 2010).
