Russian UFC champion Islam Makhachev will defend his title in the lightweight category against Irish fighter Ian Garry.

The fight will be the main event of the UFC 330 tournament, which will take place on the night of August 16 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
34-year-old Islam Makhachev has 28 wins and 1 loss in his MMA record. He became the first Russian fighter to win championships in two different weight categories in UFC history in 2025.
After successfully defending his lightweight title four times since October 2022, Makhachev moved up to middleweight. He won the UFC championship in this weight category by defeating Australian Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision in November 2025.
